I am passionate about seniors and smiling and laughing are my favorites!
My special connection with seniors has always been there. I had grandparents and great-grandparents I visited every weekend and they were always part of special occasions, such as birthdays and Christmas. One of my best friends when I was 4 was a lady who was our neighbour and over 70 years old. When we went on vacation when I was 3, I rather helped the grandmother of the family take beans off the bushes then hang out with my parents!
This past December (2016) I visited my grandmother in Germany so I could celebrate her 90th birthday and Christmas together with her. We had such fun and added to our wonderful memories.☺
Before I became an associate with AYSfS in April 2015, I worked as an Educational Assistant in a French elementary school (French as First Language) and have been a successful Registered Early Childhood Educator for over 20 years.
Since February 2015 I have been a weekly volunteer visitor to 2 lovely ladies (ages 86 & almost 94) who live at the London Dearness Home. We call each other friends for that is what we’ve become, dear friends. I also volunteer at the Thames Valley Children’s Centre (Family & Community Services department) since February 2015 on a weekly basis where I fulfill my role as administrative assistant with an outstanding record.
When at home, I enjoy spending quality time with my teenage daughters (15 & almost 18) and our most-lovable family cat Magnus (= the man of the house)?
This is how my clients describe me: honest to a fault, dependable, reliable, warm personality, approachable, easy to talk to, highly self-motivate, attention to detail, good listener, sensitive, caring, good driver and GREAT sense of humor!
