After working in the retail sector for over forty years specializing first in home furnishings then in computers, I was pleased to discover that the best job ever is spending time with seniors and assisting them to retain their independence in many ways. This realization came about through joining in and helping with the very active seniors group at my church. I hope to be blessed with the ability to continue to serve in this way as long as possible.

My name is Karishma, a physiotherapist by profession, I choose to do Home Care because I love to help seniors to get through their daily Life with a smile on their face.

Meeting new people (especially seniors) and listening to their life stories is very interesting for me. My experience in providing care and comfort to  the elderly has made me an excellent caretaker with good ability to maintain all relevant safety standards.

I have also provided personal assistance to clients with cognitive disabilities by scheduling and monitoring daily activities which includes medication reminder, personal hygiene, dressing and household activities. I am happy to be associated with ‘’At your service for Seniors’’.

I’ve had the honour of serving Seniors for many years as both a direct care provider and as a coordinator of those caring for Seniors, most recently serving WW II and Korean War Veterans in a hospital setting.

I’m delighted to now serve Seniors in their homes through At Your Service For Seniors, and am determined to do all I can to promote their independence, choice and overall well-being.

I was a child care provider in my home for 18 years. I have taught piano lessons for 26 years. I also teach singing lessons. I retired from child care and started working with Seniors about 3 1/2 years ago.

I love to spend time with seniors. They have so much to teach me about life: from bird watching to cleaning to shopping, cooking, singing together on walks, driving to appointments or listening to amazing life stories. I find working for At Your Service for Seniors very wonderful.

I enjoy meeting new people and listening to their life stories which are always interesting (especially seniors). I’m a retired teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing with experience in speech, language, sign language and of course hearing aids.

My special interests are TAI CHI, reading, movies, plays, music and going out for lunches. Also, learning about better nutrition, exercise (mental and physical) and cognition is always interesting.
